We investigate the driven-dissipative dynamics of multilevel atomic arrays interacting via dipolar interactions at subwavelength spacings. Unlike two-level atoms in the weakly excited regime, multilevel atoms can become strongly entangled. The entanglement manifests as the growth of spin waves in the ground-state manifold and survives after turning off the drive.

We demonstrate a bipartition technique using a superlattice architecture to access correlations between alternating planes of a mesoscopic array of spin-3 chromium atoms trapped in a 3D optical lattice. Using this method, we observe that out-of-equilibrium dynamics driven by long-range dipolar interactions lead to spin anticorrelations between the two spatially separated subsystems. Our bipartite measurements reveal a subtle interplay between the anisotropy of the 3D dipolar interactions and that of the lattice structure, without requiring single-site addressing.

Quantum computation and simulation rely on long-lived qubits with controllable interactions. Trapped polar molecules have been proposed as a promising quantum computing platform, offering scalability and single-particle addressability while still leveraging inherent complexity and strong couplings of molecules. Background: It was known since the 1940s that pharmacological administration of glucocorticoids can inhibit inflammatory and immune processes, and these hormones are still today among the most widely used therapeutic tools to treat diseases with immune components. However, it became clear later that endogenous glucocorticoids can either support or restrain immune processes.

Summary: Early studies showed that (a) endogenous levels of glucocorticoids can modulate immune cell activity; (b) the immune response itself can stimulate the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis to release glucocorticoids to levels that can exert immunoregulatory effects; (c) immune products, later identified as cytokines, mediate this effect.

By leveraging the hyperfine interaction between the rotational and nuclear spin degrees of freedom, we demonstrate extensive magnetic control over the electric dipole moments, electric dipolar interactions, and ac Stark shifts of ground-state alkali-dimer molecules such as KRb(X^{1}Σ^{+}). The control is enabled by narrow avoided crossings and the highly ergodic character of molecular eigenstates at low magnetic fields, offering a general and robust way of continuously tuning the intermolecular electric dipolar interaction for applications in quantum simulation, quantum sensing, and dipolar spinor physics.

This paper provides a comprehensive review of the use of computational bioacoustics as well as signal and speech processing techniques in the analysis of primate vocal communication. We explore the potential implications of machine learning and deep learning methods, from the use of simple supervised algorithms to more recent self-supervised models, for processing and analyzing large data sets obtained within the emergence of passive acoustic monitoring approaches. We theoretically investigate prospects for the creation of nonclassical spin states in trapped ion arrays by coupling to a squeezed state of the collective motion of the ions. The correlations of the generated spin states can be tailored for quantum-enhanced sensing of global or differential rotations of subensembles of the spins by working with specific vibrational modes of the ion array. We propose a pair of protocols to utilize the generated states and demonstrate their viability even for small systems, while assessing limitations imposed by spin-motion entanglement and technical noise.

Large ensembles of laser-cooled atoms interacting through infinite-range photon-mediated interactions are powerful platforms for quantum simulation and sensing. Here we realize momentum-exchange interactions in which pairs of atoms exchange their momentum states by collective emission and absorption of photons from a common cavity mode, a process equivalent to a spin-exchange or XX collective Heisenberg interaction. The momentum-exchange interaction leads to an observed all-to-all Ising-like interaction in a matter-wave interferometer.
