P21-activated kinase 1 (Pak1) signalling plays a vital and overall protective role in the heart. However, the phenotypes of deficiency in the cardiac atria have not been well explored. In this study, cardiac-conditional knock-out (cKO) mice were studied under baseline and adrenergic challenge conditions.

Adjuvant Radiotherapy in Stage II Endometrial Cancer: Selective De-intensification of Adjuvant Treatment.

Aims: Palliative radiotherapy (PRT) plays an important role in women with metastatic breast cancer. However, not all cancer patients with an indication for PRT receive it. The aim of this study was to measure the use of PRT for women who have died of breast cancer in the Canadian province of Alberta, and to identify factors that might affect this use.

Within the lesbian community there exists a common perception that lesbians comprise two types, "butch," having more masculine characteristics, and "femme," having more feminine characteristics. The present study investigated the question of whether these perceptions are reflected in different levels of the predominantly male hormone testosterone.
