A chiral monolithic capillary column for rapid enantioseparation was prepared by covalently bonding of cellulose tris(4-methylbenzoate) (CTMB) on N-acryloxysuccinimide-based monolith. The preparation and derivatization conditions of the monolithic column were optimized. The successful grafting of CTMB was confirmed on the characterizations of the infrared spectrum and the cathodic electroosmotic flow (EOF).

Objective: To evaluate the correlation of exposure and sensitization to house dust mites among rhinitis patients, and the consistency of skin prick test (SPT) and serum specific IgE (sIgE) in the detection of sensitization in a steppe environment of inner Mongolia.
Methods: Three hundreds and fourteen patients with rhinitis symptoms were recruited in this study in a hospital setting at Xilinhot City, inner Mongolia. All patients underwent medical history investigation, anterior rhinoscopy, and allergen tests in vivo (SPT) and in vitro (sIgE).

In comparison with the kinetic resolution of (R,S)-2-phenylpropionyl 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazolide or (R,S)-α-methoxyphenylacetyl 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazolide at the same reaction condition, excellent enantioselectivity with more than two order-of-magnitudes higher activity for each enantiomer was obtained. The resolution was then extended to other (R,S)-3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazolides (5-7) containing 2-chloro, 3-chloro, or 2,4-dichloro substituent, giving good (E > 48) to excellent (E > 100) enantioselectivity.

Objective: To establish the Chinese version of the modified children's fear survey schedule-dental subscale (CFSS-DS).
Methods: The original English version of CFSS-DS with facial image scale (FIS) was translated into Chinese, pre-tested and cross-culturally adapted. Subsequently the Chinese version schedule was randomly investigated among 367 children aged 5 - 12 years and their parents.
A rapid, low cost and selective chemiluminescence method coupled with magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers extraction was developed to detect lysozyme in human urine samples. Compared with traditional solid-phase extraction, this method could achieve selective extraction for the lysozyme, avoid the time consuming elution from a column or centrifugation steps, and then showed great potential in the high-throughput screening of clinical samples. The parameters affecting the performance of extraction and chemiluminescence were investigated.

These novel mixed ring rare earth triple-decker compounds were characterized by a wide range of spectroscopic methods including MS, (1)H NMR, IR, electronic absorption, and magnetic circular-dichroism (MCD) spectroscopic measurements in addition to elemental analysis. Perfect mirror image relationship was observed in the Soret and Q absorption regions in the circular-dichroism (CD) spectra of the (R)- and (S)-enantiomers, indicating the optically active nature of these two mixed (phthalocyaninato)(porphyrinato) rare earth triple-decker complexes.
