Decentralized testing using multiplex lateral flow assays (mLFAs) to simultaneously detect multiple analytes can significantly enhance detection efficiency, reduce cost and time, and improve analytic accuracy. However, the challenges, including the monochromatic color of probe particles, interference between different test lines, and reduced specificity and sensitivity, severely hinder mLFAs from wide use. In this study, we prepared polydopamine (PDA)-coated dyed cellulose nanoparticles (dCNPs@P) with tunable colors as the probe for mLFAs.

Students perspectives on the development and deployment of an AI-enabled service robot in long-term care.

The need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in gerontology education is underscored by the potential benefits it offers in addressing loneliness and supporting social connection among older adults in long-term care (LTC) homes. While the workforce in LTC is often overburdened, AI-enabled service robots present possible solutions to enhance residents' quality of life. However, the incorporation of AI and service robots in current gerontology curricula is lacking, and the views of students on this subject remain largely unexamined.

The plastisphere, defined as the ecological niche for microbial colonization of plastic debris, has been recognized as a hotspot of pathogenic and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. However, the interactions between bacteria and phages facilitated by the plastisphere, as well as their impact on microbial risks to public health, remain unclear. Here, we analyzed public metagenomic data from 180 plastisphere and environmental samples, stemming from four different habitats and two plastic types (biodegradable and nonbiodegradable plastics) and obtained 611 nonredundant metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) and 4061 nonredundant phage contigs.

Cost Effectiveness of Colorectal Cancer Screening Strategies in Middle- and High-Income Countries: A Systematic Review.

Background And Aim: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a significant global health burden, and screening can greatly reduce CRC incidence and mortality. Previous studies investigated the economic effects of CRC screening. We performed a systematic review to provide the cost-effectiveness of CRC screening strategies across countries with different income levels.
