Introduction: Little is known about the factors associated with care-resistant behavior in community-dwelling persons living with dementia.

Methods: Regression modeling was performed on 41,143 responses to a standardized questionnaire from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center's Uniform Data Set.

Results: In the fully adjusted mixed-effects regression model, collinearity was low, with no variance inflation factor above 1.

Introduction Breast cancer is one of the most common female malignancies in the United States and often necessitates surgical interventions that carry a substantial risk of postoperative pain. Pectoral nerve blocks have emerged as a simpler alternative for providing regional perioperative analgesia to the chest wall in breast cancer surgery. This retrospective study evaluated the impact of implementing a novel regional anesthesia protocol centering on the use of pectoral nerve blocks for patients undergoing radical mastectomy at a small regional hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Advance Care Planning (ACP) is a process that supports decision-making about end-of-life goals. Dementia ACP is recommended during the early stages of the disease to empower the individual living with dementia to express wishes for quality of life before experiencing significant cognitive decline. ACP during early dementia is rare, and hesitancy to initiate difficult and emotional conversations may be a contributing factor to delaying ACP.
