Background: Existing cardiovascular risk prediction models still have room for improvement in patients with type 2 diabetes who represent a high-risk population. This study evaluated whether adding metabolomic biomarkers could enhance the 10-year prediction of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in these patients.
Methods: Data from 10,257 to 1,039 patients with type 2 diabetes from the UK Biobank (UKB) and the German ESTHER cohort, respectively, were used for model derivation, internal and external validation.
Methanol (ME) is a liquid hydrogen carrier, ideal for on-site-on-demand H generation, avoiding its costly and risky distribution issues, but this "ME-to-H" electric conversion suffers from high voltage (energy consumption) and competitive oxygen evolution reaction. Herein, we demonstrate that a synergistic cofunctional PtPd/(Ni,Co)(OH) catalyst with Pt single atoms (Pt) and Pd nanoclusters (Pd) anchored on OH-vacancy(V)-rich (Ni,Co)(OH) nanoparticles create synergistic triadic active sites, allowing for methanol-enhanced low-voltage H generation. For MOR, OH* is preferentially adsorbed on Pd and then interacts with the intermediates (such as *CHO or *CHOOH) adsorbed favorably on neighboring Pt with the assistance of hydrogen bonding from the surface hydrogen of (Ni,Co)(OH).

Hair follicle (HF) development and pigmentation are complex processes governed by various signaling pathways, such as TGF-β and FGF signaling pathways. Nestin + (neural crest like) stem cells are also expressed in HF stem cells, particularly in the bulge and dermal papilla region. However, the specific role and differentiation potential of these Nestin-positive cells within the HF remain unclear, especially regarding their contribution to melanocyte formation and hair pigmentation.

The aim of this study was to investigate the association of dietary intake, inflammatory markers and sarcopenia among the community-dwelling older adults.
Methods: A total of 1001 older adults aged 60 and above were recruited.
The hemispherical resonator gyroscope is a gyroscope based on the principle of Coriolis vibration, widely used in inertial measurement systems of spacecraft. This article decomposes the gyroscope into two parts: the resonator shell and the gyroscope head, establishes the energy dissipation mechanism of the gyroscope, and conducts experimental verification. Firstly, based on the working principle of the gyroscope, a mechanical analysis model of the hemispherical resonator gyroscope head with a resonator spherical shell containing quality defects under second-order vibration state was established.
