Multifunctional smart biopolymeric films were fabricated using rose petal anthocyanin (RPA) and carrageenan (CAR) doped with rose petal-derived carbon dots (RP-CDs). Response surface-optimized RPA showed the highest total anthocyanins and radical scavenging ability. Produced RP-CD exhibited UV absorption and high fluorescence with antibacterial/antioxidant abilities.

Aim Of The Study: The gradual clinical worsening of acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) leads to a high 28-day mortality rate. There are several prognostication scores for predicting early mortality in ACLF. Serum phosphate, which is the main component of adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) synthesis, is utilized for liver synthetic functions, leading to subnormal or decreased serum phosphate levels.

Article Synopsis
  • * Bacteriophages, which can target specific bacteria and inhibit their growth, have potential for extending food shelf life but lose their effectiveness when directly applied to food.
  • * The review examines using bacteriophage-loaded biopolymers for food packaging, detailing methods for isolation, culturing, storage, and how they enhance antibacterial activity in food systems.
