View Article and Find Full Text PDFWhen male alcoholics with and without a positive family history were compared, differences were found in age of onset, age of presentation, severity of alcoholism, and severity of self-reported antisocial behaviour. No such differences were found for women. The implications of these findings for the concept of 'familial alcoholism' are discussed.
