Laser Interstitial Thermotherapy in Surgical Treatment of Vascular Anomalies.

The effects of subcooled boiling of water and blood in the experimental cuvette and rabbit hepatic vessels under the influence of optical fiber-guided continuous IR laser radiation (1.94 μm) were studied using optical methods and ultrasonic diagnostics near the tip of the laser optical fiber. The liver was chosen as a model of vascular abnormality with a conglomerate of blood vessels.
