Optimal reporting of outcomes is critical for the interpretation of research findings. This review aimed to examine the utilization of outcome measures (OMs) in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of moderate to severe TBI (MSTBI). Systematic searches were conducted up to December 2022 in MEDLINE, PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, EMBASE and PsycINFO, in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.

A Systematic Review of Worldwide Female Enrollment in Randomized Controlled Trials of Post-Stroke Lower Extremity Rehabilitation.

This review systematically examined the reporting of sex and female participation in post-stroke lower extremity (LE) motor rehabilitation randomized controlled trials (RCTs) over time and identified differences in female participation across RCTs conducted in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), high-income-countries (HICs), and HIC-regions. Systematic searches were conducted of MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL and PsycINFO from 1970 to May 2022. RCTs in English were included if they examined post-stroke LE motor rehabilitation interventions in adults diagnosed with stroke.

A Randomized Control Trial of a Virtually Delivered Program for Increasing Upper Limb Activity After Stroke.

Background: Upper limb activity following stroke is low, which may limit recovery. We investigated whether a virtually-delivered upper limb program, that included a wearable device with reach-to-grasp feedback, would increase upper limb activity after stroke.

Methods: This was a parallel-group, assessor-blinded, randomized control trial conducted at 6 sites across 5 provinces of the CanStroke Recovery Trials Platform between 2020 to 2022.

An Overview of Randomized Controlled Trials Examining Prescription and Nonprescription Pharmacological Interventions for Moderate to Severe Traumatic Brain Injury.

To characterize randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of pharmacological interventions (prescription medications, nonprescription medications, and supplements) for the management of moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (MSTBI). Systematic searches were conducted in MEDLINE, PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, EMBASE, and PsycINFO for RCTs up to December 2022 inclusive in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Inclusion criteria were RCT study design; participants' mean age ≥ 18 years and ≥ 50% had MSTBI; examined ≥ 1 pharmacological intervention(s), either alone or in combination with other interventions.

Systematic Review of Upper Extremity Outcome Measures Assessed in Randomized Controlled Trials of Poststroke Upper Extremity Rehabilitation in Low-to-Middle-Income and High-Income Countries.

Objective: To systematically review randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of poststroke upper extremity (UE) motor rehabilitation interventions to identify the outcome measures used in studies in low-to-middle-income countries (LMICs) and high-income countries (HICs) and describe the differences in the context of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health.

Data Sources: Five databases "Embase, PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, and Web of Science" were searched from 1960 to April 1, 2021.

Study Selection: Studies were included if they were (1) RCTs or RCT crossovers in English; (2) with ≥50% participants affected by ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke; (3) participants aged ≥18 years; and (4) used an intervention for the hemiparetic UE as the primary objective of the study.
