  • - The study aimed to explore the use of quaternary ammonium compounds, specifically a combination of Diphenhydramine and Ammonium Chloride, to improve outcomes for COVID-19 patients.
  • - In a trial with 120 participants, those receiving the Ammonium Chloride had lower recovery times and reduced viral burden compared to those receiving only Diphenhydramine, although overall mortality rates did not significantly differ.
  • - The researchers conclude that adding Ammonium Chloride to standard care may benefit COVID-19 patients, particularly in terms of recovery and viral load.
