Reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) in macrophages have a potent killing effect on pathogens that infect the host. Here, we achieved , quantitative detection of the homeostasis of four primary ROS/RNS (ONOO, HO, NO, and NO) and their precursors (O˙, NO) in phagolysosomes of single RAW 264.7 macrophages after phagocytosis of with platinum-black nanoelectrodes.

Background: The evaluation of HPV vaccine effectiveness is essential for informing public health strategies, yet there remains a gap in understanding humoral immune responses generated by different HPV vaccine formulations in regional populations. This study addresses this gap by evaluating the immunogenicity of the newly developed HPV vaccine Cecolin (Wantai), alongside various imported vaccines, including bivalent, quadrivalent, and nonavalent options available in China.

Methods: From March 2023 to June 2024, a total of 352 participants were enrolled, including 87 females aged 9-14 years who received two doses of the bivalent HPV vaccine (Cecolin), 215 females aged 15-45 years who were fully vaccinated with various HPV vaccines, and 50 non-recipients.

Article Synopsis
  • * This method achieves a high leaching efficiency of 94.9% for gold in waste printed circuit boards (WPCB) under mild conditions while minimizing the leaching of base metals.
  • * The effectiveness of WS NBS-DMF is attributed to the generation of bromine radicals and the formation of stable gold complexes, making it a safer and more eco-friendly alternative to existing gold recovery methods from e-waste.

Silk fibroin is a fiber-forming protein derived from the thread of silkworm cocoons. This biocompatible protein, under the kosmotropic influence of potassium phosphate, can undergo supramolecular self-assembly driven by a random coil to β-sheet secondary structure transition. By leveraging concurrent nonspecific adsorption and self-assembly of silk fibroin, we demonstrate an interfacial phenomenon that yields adherent, defect-free nanothin protein coatings that grow continuously in time, without observable saturation in mass deposition.

The dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (dmPFC) plays a crucial role in social cognitive functions, including perspective-taking. Although perspective-taking has been linked to self-control, the mechanism by which the dmPFC might facilitate self-control remains unclear. Using the multimodal neuroimaging dataset from the Human Connectome Project (Study 1, N =978 adults), we established a reliable association between the dmPFC and self-control, as measured by discounting rate-the tendency to prefer smaller, immediate rewards over larger, delayed ones.
