Purpose: Molecular classification of endometrial cancer (EC) has emerged as a key approach to individualize therapy and define prognostic outcomes. This study aimed to implement the traditional ProMisE classification in a Brazilian population, compared with a molecular setting of ProMisE biomarkers, and evaluate its impact on patients' prognosis.

Patient And Methods: A prospective cohort of 114 patients with primary EC treated at Barretos Cancer Hospital (BCH) between October 2020 and December 2022 was conducted.

The use of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and other high-throughput technologies in the clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory requires the application of bioinformatics pipelines and other computational tools to analyze, visualize, and store these clinical data. Clinical Bioinformaticians, individuals with the skills to develop, validate, and deploy these tools in a clinical setting, are needed to ensure that these molecular diagnostic technologies can be appropriately used for clinical care. Building on existing expertise in informatics, NGS, and clinical molecular diagnostics, the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) has generated a series to establish an initial Clinical Bioinformatician Body of Knowledge.

Breast augmentations, commonly performed for aesthetic or medical reasons, often use silicone (polydimethylsiloxane [PDMS]) implants. Some patients develop complications like capsular contracture, where scar tissue forms around the implant. Previously, we used stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy to detect and quantify silicone in stained capsule tissue, finding a correlation between silicone amount and contracture severity.

Background: Oral Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is effective in preventing HIV transmission. However, despite high rates of HIV risk behaviors among people who inject drugs (PWID), this population remains underserved by current HIV prevention efforts in the United States. To address this challenge, we conducted an in-depth exploration of perspectives on using oral PrEP among PWID engaged in the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) 094 INTEGRA Study.

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an increasing concern globally, with risks attributed to both genetic and environmental factors, including pesticide exposures. The CHARGE case-control study collected data to examine the relationship between household insecticide use and ASD or developmental delay (DD).

Methods: Participants (n = 1526) aged 2-5 years from the CHARGE study encompassed children with clinically confirmed ASD (n = 810), DD (n = 186), and typically developing controls (n = 530) frequency matched to ASD children by age, sex, and geographic region.
