Introduction: The presence of an artificial urinary sphincter can be overlooked resulting in inadvertent urethral catheterization and cuff erosion. A hard-stop best practice advisory was created in the electronic medical record to alert for the presence of an artificial urinary sphincter. Background: Climacturia affects up to 45% of men after radical prostatectomy (RP). Although urethral slings decrease the severity and frequency of stress incontinence after RP, their efficacy as a treatment for climacturia after RP has not been well studied.
