Method: An online cross-sectional survey was conducted among medical doctors in their prevocational and vocational stages working in Victoria, Australia. Participants were asked about various factors that influenced their choice of specialty.

Association between meningioma consistency and surgical outcomes.

Objective: Tumor consistency, or fibrosity, affects the ability to optimally resect meningiomas, especially with recent trends evolving toward minimally invasive approaches. The authors' team previously validated a practical 5-point scale for intraoperative grading of meningioma consistency. The impact of meningioma consistency on surgical management and outcomes, however, has yet to be explored.

The future of clinical trials of gut microbiome therapeutics in cirrhosis.

The last two decades have witnessed an explosion of microbiome research, including in hepatology, with studies demonstrating altered microbial composition in liver disease. More recently, efforts have been made to understand the association of microbiome features with clinical outcomes and to develop therapeutics targeting the microbiome. While microbiome therapeutics hold much promise, their unique features pose certain challenges for the design and conduct of clinical trials.
