Short-Term Outcomes of Patients With Hyponatremia Presenting to the Emergency Department: An Observational Study.

Background: Hyponatremia is the predominant electrolyte imbalance disorder in the emergency department. It can manifest with a diverse array of symptoms, ranging from non-specific and moderate to severe and even life-threatening. There is a scarcity of literature addressing the clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients with hyponatremia presenting to the emergency department in the western part of Rajasthan.

Protective effect of bilingualism on aging, MCI, and dementia: A community-based study.

Introduction: Lifelong bilingualism is associated with a delayed age at onset of dementia, but evidence from community-based studies is limited. We investigated the relationship between bilingualism and the prevalence of cognitive impairment in a linguistically diverse community.

Keystone Island Flap for Reconstructive Surgery-A Novel Approach.

Keystone island flaps have a growing array of applications in reconstructive surgeries for the closure of simple and complex defects following the excision of skin tumors. It is a trapezoidal-shaped flap based on fasciocutaneous perforators. We share our experience with a 79-year-old man, who underwent keystone island flap reconstruction after the excision of biopsy-proven Bowen's disease.

Influence of dodecyl surfactants on the cross-linking, plasticization and damping behavior of epoxy novolac resins.

A series of modified epoxy novolac resins (ENRs) were prepared by incorporating dodecyl chain surfactants with polar groups such as amine, carboxylic acid, phenol, resorcinol and benzene sulfonic acid. Except for the case of benzene sulfonic acid, no macrophase separation is seen in any of the modified ENRs. The addition of these dodecyl surfactants to ENR hinders the cross-linking reaction as revealed from their dynamic and isothermal DSC curing measurements and reduced glass transition temperatures ().
