The multifunctional promyelocytic leukemia protein (PML) is involved in the regulation of various cellular processes in both physiological and pathological conditions. Specifically, PML is one of the inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors (IPRs) activity regulators and can influence Ca transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to mitochondria. In this work, the effects of PML knockout on calcium homeostasis in the cytosol, ER, and mitochondria of HeLa cells were studied upon stimulation with histamine, which induces Ca mobilization from the ER via IPRs.

Mathematical modelling of the influence of polymorphism on blood pressure and antihypertensive therapy.

The angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene () insertion/deletion () polymorphism raises the possibility of personalising ACE inhibitor therapy to optimise its efficiency and reduce side effects in genetically distinct subgroups. However, the extent of its influence among these subgroups is unknown. Therefore, we extended our computational model of blood pressure regulation to investigate the effect of the polymorphism on haemodynamic parameters in humans undergoing antihypertensive therapy.

Processing of titanium-containing ores for the production of titanium products: A comprehensive review.

This article discusses the main technologies for processing titanium-containing raw materials, the advantages, and disadvantages of various technological solutions. The analysis of the literature revealed that the traditional methods for the production of titanium products are mainly focused on the use of ilmenite concentrates. In connection with the depletion of ilmenite deposits, in the near future, there will inevitably be a need for a switch to the use of complex ores - titanomagnetite.

Breeding and productive qualities of ducks of the local population in northern Kazakhstan.

The production of duck meat in the republic was previously based on the use of 4-5 lines and populations of the Beijing breed, where the Medeo cross lines (M-1 paternal and M2-maternal) were the most widespread. At the same time, many domestic lines and populations, such as the cross "Bishkulskaya Tsvetnaya", "Kyzylzharsky", whose livestock is concentrated in the Northern region, represent rich genetic material and can be used to create new crosses. This article describes the productive and breeding qualities of ducks of the local population in the Northern region of Kazakhstan, the data obtained make it possible for further purposeful breeding work to create, preserve highly productive poultry, providing highly efficient production of eggs and meat, adapted to both industrial conditions and conditions of keeping in small-scale and farms.
