Method for quantifying cutaneous pigmentation in animals and preliminary study in humans.

Synopsis A preoccupation with aesthetics and a real desire for social development has brought about an increase in the demand for safe, effective depigmenting products among African and Asian populations. For many years now, we have used an experimental model which uses the black mouse CS BL/6/JICO. As a result of developing needs and the necessity to check the results obtained from animals on humans, we have had to change the methodology in order to take into account the specific characteristics of human skin.
