In this study, a new and simple glassy carbon electrode modified with carbon nanohorns (SWCNH/GCE) was used for the determination of Cr(VI) in aqueous matrices via adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (AdCSV). The modified electrode was characterized via field emission scanning electron microscopy and cyclic voltammetry, which revealed a homogeneous distribution of spherical agglomerates of SWCNH on the electrode surface. The modification increased the electrochemically active area from 0.

Current analytical methods primarily focus on clustering and classification, and do not adequately examine the relationship between cell morphology and molecular dynamics. Here, we present MorphLink, a framework designed to systematically identify disease-related morphological-molecular interplays.

Pine bark, as a byproduct from the paper industry, was used as a source of condensed tannins of high molecular weight. Different glycine betaine concentrations were tested to produce condensed tannin nanoparticles, and the obtained nanoparticles were subjected to several characterization techniques (Dynamic Light Scattering, Field emission scanning electron microscopy, Zeta potential, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy-Attenuated total reflectance, thermogravimetric analysis).

The level of intracellular copper was determined as well as the level of glutathione (GSH) and phytochelatins (PCs) and the expression of metallothioneins (UcMTs). The level of intracellular copper in the algae treated with copper increased at day 1, slightly increased until day 5 and remained unchanged until day 7.
