Aim/purpose: This study aimed to apply a shock wave from the ventral side of a pig and examine its effect to use the results for new body armor production for humans.
Methods: Seven male hybrid pigs were used. Each pig was placed under general anesthesia on the experimental table in a blast tube in the left lateral position to expose the front chest area, and shock waves generated by compressed air at 3.
Background: Amniotic fluid embolism is an unpredictable and sometimes lethal complication of childbirth. Fibrinogen γ-chain peptide-coated, ADP-encapsulated Liposomes (H12-(ADP)-liposomes), which were developed as a platelet substitute, may be useful to control postpartum hemorrhage with consumptive coagulopathy.
Objective: This study aimed to establish a hemodynamically stable amniotic fluid embolism animal model and evaluate the efficacy of H12-ADP-liposome infusion in the initial management of postpartum hemorrhage complicated with amniotic fluid embolism-involved coagulopathy.
Aim: To evaluate the association of intravenous fluid (IVF) therapy on the length of time from arrival at the emergency department (ED) until awakening in cases of acute alcohol intoxication.
Methods: This single-center, prospective, observational study was conducted in the ED of the Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital during October 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019. Patients with 1,000 mL bolus of lactated Ringer's solution and those without bolus were compared.
Radiat Prot Dosimetry

The size-specific dose estimate (SSDE) is used for radiation dose management in computed tomography (CT) and represents patient's absorbed dose more accurately than volume CT dose index. The relationship between SSDE and age or weight was investigated using 980 pediatric brain CT scans. Monolinear, power, and bilinear functions were fitted to the plots of SSDE against age or weight, and SSDE was estimated using the obtained functions.
