Objective: To investigate the associations between neonatal unit admission (NNU) and subsequent emotional and behavioural difficulties during childhood and adolescence.
Design: Longitudinal general population cohort study.
Setting: The Millennium Cohort Study: nationally representative UK-based cohort.
Background: Patients receiving chiropractic spinal manipulation (CSM) for spinal pain are less likely to be prescribed opioids, and some evidence suggests that these patients have a lower risk of any type of adverse drug event. We hypothesize that adults receiving CSM for sciatica will have a reduced risk of opioid-related adverse drug events (ORADEs) over a one-year follow-up compared to matched controls not receiving CSM.
Methods: We searched a United States (US) claims-based data resource (Diamond Network, TriNetX, Inc.
Variants of uncertain significance (VUS) represent variants that lack sufficient evidence to be confidently associated with a disease, thus posing a challenge in the interpretation of genetic testing results. Here we report an improved method for predicting the VUS of Arylsulfatase A (ARSA) gene as part of the Critical Assessment of Genome Interpretation challenge (CAGI6). Our method uses a transfer learning approach that leverages a pre-trained protein language model to predict the impact of mutations on the activity of the ARSA enzyme, whose deficiency is known to cause a rare genetic disorder, metachromatic leukodystrophy.

In this study, ZrO NPs were synthesized using zirconyl oxychloride and the aqueous leaf extract of as a stabilizing agent. Analytical techniques, including various spectroscopy methods and electron microscopy, confirmed the formation of aggregated spherical ZrO NPs, ranging from 15 to 30 nm in size, with mixed-phase structure composed of tetragonal and monoclinic structures.

Dosage tolerance is one of the translational challenges of using metformin (Met) in brain therapeutics. This paper presents metal-organic framework (MOF)-74-Mg nanocarriers (NCs) for intranasal (IN) delivery of brain-specific agents with a prolonged release time. We confirmed their excellent biocompatibility (5 mg/mL) and intrinsic fluorescence properties (370/500 nm excitation/emission peak) in Neuro-2A cells.
