Novel Al/CoFe/-Si and Al/NiFe/-Si MS-type photodiode for sensing.

CoFe and NiFe are used in the construction of Si-based metal-semiconductor-type photodiodes. Thin film layers are sputtered onto the-Si surface where Al metal contacts are deposited using the thermal evaporation technique. Film characteristics of the layers are investigated with respect to the crystalline structure and surface morphology.

Novel acid mono azo dye compound: synthesis, characterization, vibrational, optical and theoretical investigations of 2-[(E)-(8-hydroxyquinolin-5-yl)-diazenyl]-4,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid.

Novel acid mono azo dye, 2-[(E)-(8-hydroxyquinolin-5yl)-diazenyl]-4,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid (HQD), was synthesized by coupling diazonium salt solution of 2-amino-4,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid (DMA) with 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ). This dye was characterized by UV-vis, IR & Raman, (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. The normal coordinate analysis of HQD was also performed to assign each band in vibrational spectra.

Thickness dependence of magnetic properties of Co90Fe10 nanoscale thin films.

Ferromagnetic monolayers Co90Fe10 thin films with individual layer thicknesses 2, 6, and 8 nm were grown on thermally oxidized Si substrate and magnetic properties of these were investigated with Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technique at room temperature. The magnetoresistance (MR) of the samples were measured as a function of applied DC magnetic field and the thickness dependence of the MR was plotted. The FMR spectra were recorded for both parallel and perpendicular geometry.
