In the future, with elevated atmospheric CO (eCO), forests are expected to increase woody biomass to capture more carbon (C), though this is dependent on soil nutrient availability. While young forests may access unused nutrients by growing into an unexplored soil environment, it is unclear how or if mature forests can adapt belowground under eCO. Soil respiration ( ) and nutrient bioavailability are integrative ecosystem measures of below-ground dynamics.

Background: Studies of human IgE and its targeted epitopes on allergens have been very limited. We have an established method to immortalize IgE encoding B cells from allergic individuals.
Objective: To develop an unbiased and comprehensive panel of peanut-specific human IgE mAbs to characterize key immunodominant antigenic regions and epitopes on peanut allergens to map the molecular interactions responsible for inducing anaphylaxis.

- Two pilot studies were conducted with participants aged 16-59, who provided urine or vaginal swab samples either during face-to-face interviews or remotely, with feedback collected to assess the processes.
- Out of 261 participants, 62% consented to biosampling, with a higher sample return from face-to-face interviews, indicating general acceptability of the biosampling methods used for STI testing in the national survey.
Background: Very premature infants screened for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) that do not develop ROP still experience serious visual developmental challenges, and while it is recommended that all children in the UK are offered preschool visual screening, we aimed to explore whether this vulnerable group requires dedicated follow-up.
Methods: We performed a real-world retrospective observational cohort study of children previously screened for ROP in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (Scotland) between 2013 and 2015. We excluded those with any severity of ROP identified during screening.
