Foraminal and extraforaminal lumbar disc herniations are common sources of pain and disability. Classic surgical treatments, such as open approach through Witsel technique, often involve resection of the superior articular process to decompress the foraminal space. Unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) has emerged as a minimally invasive alternative, providing enhanced visualization and precision while minimizing soft tissue damage.

To better control the process of ligand functionalization over three-dimensional (3D) polyester surfaces, we report the characterization of hybrid proteins developed to enhance the anchoring efficiency over polymeric surfaces and preserve optimal spatial orientation: sfGFP, mRFP1, and the RBD proteins were attached to a polyester substrate binding domain (SBD) formed by the C-terminus region of PHA depolymerase. The binding ability was evaluated over poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) microparticles (MP) and two-dimensional (2D) surfaces.

However, since late 2022, an increasing number of OROV cases have been reported across various regions ofBrazilas well as in urban centers in Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana, Colombia, Cuba, Panama and Peru. In collaboration with Central Public Health Laboratories across Brazil, we integrated epidemiological metadata with genomic analyses from recent cases, generating 133 whole-genome sequences covering the virus's three genomic segments (L, M, and S).

This study presents the development of a new prebiotic and antioxidant carrageenan-based emulsion gel (EG) as a vehicle to transport XOSs obtained from sugarcane bagasse. The aim of developing the EG is its future potential application as a saturated fat replacement ingredient in food products with added functional properties (antioxidant and prebiotic).
