Anestrous and lactating Bos taurus by Bos indicus crossbred cows with minimum body condition were studied to determine the efficacy of GnRH+PGF 2alpha combinations for induction of estrus and/or ovulation on pregnancy rate during the months of the year when temperatures are greater. On day 0 (start of treatment), cows were assigned randomly to either treatment or control groups. Treated cows (n = 74) received i.

Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare the morphological evaluation of embryos using stereoscopy, light microscopy and electron microscopy in order to establish the accuracy of former method compared with more invasive and accurate procedures. For this purpose, 23 Brahman x Swiss cows were used and synchronized with Norgestomet 6 mg plus, 5 mg Estradiol valerate (Syncromate B(R), Rhone Merieux, Mexico, Mexico City) and superovulated with Folltropin-V 240 mg (Vetrepharm, Mexico, Mexico City).

The PCR technique detected an endogenous 442 bp WAP DNA sequence in 78% of one-cell, 88% of two-cell and 94% of four-cell ova, and in 95% of morulae and 97% of blastocysts. The heterologous WAP-human protein C transgene was detected in 88% of one-cell, 88% of two-cell and 44% of four-cell ova, and in 40% of morulae and 29% of blastocysts.

Oocytes were inseminated 24 h after maturation with frozen/thawed semen prepared with a Percoll separation procedure. At 11, 15 and 19 h after insemination, embryos were centrifuged to visualize pronuclei and microinjected with a murine whey acidic protein-human protein C genomic DNA construct.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA series of experiments evaluated development of porcine zygotes microinjected with DNA in three culture media and two incubation temperatures, from postpubertal and prepubertal donors, and between zygotes injected with DNA into the pronucleus and the cytoplasm. Zygotes recovered from 36 postpubertal gilts in Exp. 1 were injected and cultured in modified NCSU-23, modified NCSU-37, and CZB media at 37 degrees C or 39 degrees C for 7 d.
