The Role of Statins on Eradication: Results from the European Registry on the Management of (Hp-EuReg).

Statins could increase the effectiveness of eradication therapies due to their anti-inflammatory effect. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of this therapeutic association in real life. This is a multicenter, prospective, non-interventional study aimed at evaluating the management of by European gastroenterologists.

European Registry on Management: Effectiveness of First and Second-Line Treatment in Spain.

The management of infection has to rely on previous local effectiveness due to the geographical variability of antibiotic resistance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of first and second-line treatment in Spain, where the empirical prescription is recommended. A multicentre prospective non-interventional registry of the clinical practice of European gastroenterologists concerning infection (Hp-EuReg) was developed, including patients from 2013 until June 2019.

EUS-guided drainage of postsurgical pelvic abscesses using lumen-apposing metal stents.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided drainage of pelvic collections is an alternative to percutaneous or surgical drainage. We present our experience using lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS) for the drainage of postoperative pelvic abscesses.

Screening for latent tuberculosis infection in patients with inflammatory bowel disease: Can interferon-gamma release assays replace the tuberculin skin test?

Background/aims: Screening for latent tuberculosis infection is mandatory before starting anti-tumor necrosis factor therapy. New assays based on interferon-γ (IFN-γ) release have recently become available and may be more accurate. The aim of this study was to compare QuantiFERON-TB and tuberculin skin test in screening for latent infection in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

The utility of faecal calprotectin to predict post-operative recurrence in Crohńs disease.

Objective: Endoscopic recurrence in Crohńs disease occurs in up to 80% of patients during the first year after surgery. Due to this, these patients need close monitoring. Faecal calprotectin has been proposed to be used as a non-invasive marker to monitor inflammatory activity.
