Background: Cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) are among the main modifiable risk factors for dementia in Latin America (LA). Therefore, improving cardiovascular health (CVH) is one of the main objectives of the LatAm-FINGERS trial, the largest non-pharmacological (lifestyle improvement) randomized trial in LA. But, to fully comprehend CVH it is necessary to explore its relation with the social determinants of health (SDH), that are closely associated with lifestyle.

Segmental Odontomaxillary Dysplasia: Unusual Tumoral Lesion.

Introduction: Segmental Odontomaxillary Dysplasia (SOD) is a non-hereditary, unilateral developmental anomaly recently included in the WHO's classification of head and neck tumors.

Case Presentation: Here, we report the case of an 8-year-old boy presenting with unilateral maxillary enlargement and pain without facial asymmetry. Computed tomography revealed a hypodense area in the maxillary bone with altered bone structure and osseous expansion.

The "One Health approach" has evidenced the significant impact of xenobiotic exposure to health, and humans are a relevant target for their toxic effects. Bisphenol A (BPA) exerts a ubiquitous exposure source in all ecosystems. Given its endocrine-disrupting and harmful consequences on health, several countries have enforced new regulations to reduce exposure to BPA.

Angiotensin II elicits robust calcium oscillations coordinated within juxtaglomerular cell clusters to suppress renin secretion.

Background: Juxtaglomerular (JG) cells are sensors that control blood pressure and fluid-electrolyte homeostasis. In response to a decrease in perfusion pressure or changes in the composition and/or volume of the extracellular fluid, JG cells release renin, which initiates an enzymatic cascade that culminates in the production of angiotensin II (Ang II), a potent vasoconstrictor that restores blood pressure and fluid homeostasis. In turn, Ang II exerts a negative feedback on renin release, thus preventing excess circulating renin and the development of hypertension.

Background: There is no global agreement on the definition of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) remission.

Objective: To generate a consensus for clinical definitions in CSU focused on remission.

Methods: The World Allergy Organization (WAO) Urticaria Committee systematically reviewed current available longitudinal articles.
