Article Synopsis
  • Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive lung disease with unknown causes, linked to vascular abnormalities and complications like pulmonary hypertension (PH).*
  • A literature review reveals crucial molecular mechanisms involved in vascular changes related to IPF, emphasizing their potential as prognostic markers and highlighting the impact of antifibrotic therapies.*
  • The findings suggest that the vasculature is integral to IPF's progression and that emerging treatments with a vascular focus may improve outcomes for patients.*

Monitoring heart rate (HR) through photoplethysmography (PPG) signals is a challenging task due to the complexities involved, even during routine daily activities. These signals can indeed be heavily contaminated by significant motion artifacts resulting from the subjects' movements, which can lead to inaccurate heart rate estimations. In this paper, our objective is to present an innovative necklace sensor that employs low-computational-cost algorithms for heart rate estimation in individuals performing non-abrupt movements, specifically drivers.

Article Synopsis
  • - The QCMV test measures immune response to cytomegalovirus (CMV) in lung transplant patients by detecting IFN-γ from CD8+ T cells, helping to assess the risk of CMV-related complications and lung rejection.
  • - In a study of 73 lung transplant patients, those with no immunity to CMV (group C) had a lower incidence of acute rejection events (AR) compared to those who were at high risk for CMV (group D), who also had more viral replication.
  • - The research found that non-reactive QCMV patients (group B) faced a significantly higher risk of developing chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) over 24 months, suggesting the

Introduction: Patients with central neoplasms and haemoptysis show low survival rates. Symptom control without recurrence 48 h after bronchoscopic interventions may improve the prognosis of these patients. Bronchoscopic argon plasma coagulation (APC) is a useful technique for endobronchial management of haemoptysis in patients with central malignancies.

This paper focuses on the characterization of radio propagation, and data communication in a marine environment. More specifically, we consider signal propagation when three different sub-gigahertz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) bands, i.e.
