Background: TB-403 (RO5323441) is a humanized monoclonal antibody directed against placental growth factor (PlGF). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that targeting PlGF can result in significant inhibition of tumor growth and metastasis.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the safety profile, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of TB-403, developed for the treatment of solid tumors.
Background: The prognostic potential of HER2, TP53 mutations, PAI-1 protein levels, angiogenesis and proliferation were investigated in tumours from 408 patients with early breast cancer followed >10 years. One hundred and sixty seven patients (41%) died from breast cancer.
Materials And Methods: Tumour sections were stained for HER2, CD34, and MIB-1.
Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor type-1 (PAI-1) is involved in tumor invasion and progression. High levels of PAI-1 are associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer, and PAI-1 has been shown to play a role in angiogenic processes. Since estimates of tumor angiogenesis may predict poor prognosis we studied the relationship between PAI-1 and estimates of angiogenesis in breast cancer.

This is the first study aiming to predict the prognosis for survival by the use of a pre-chemotherapeutic plasma suPAR value in 71 patients with recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer (REOC). For determination of suPAR, pre-chemotherapeutic blood samples from the patients with REOC were processed into plasma (EDTA) within one working day from venipuncture.

It has previously been shown that the preoperative plasma concentration of soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) is associated with the survival of patients with early colorectal cancer. In this study we sought to confirm the independent prognostic value of suPAR in rectal cancer.
