Background: Ovarian cancer is one of the deadliest cancers in women. Improved preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies are needed. Certain dietary patterns and nutrients such as vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids are associated with reduced cancer risk, but their effects on ovarian cancer remain to be fully elucidated, and their combined effects have not been explored.

Successful Neonatal, Intraoperative Neuromonitoring in the Surgical Correction of a Thoracic Dermal Sinus Tract: Technical Note.

Introduction: Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) is commonly used during surgery of the spine and spinal cord for early surveillance of iatrogenic injury to the central and peripheral nervous system. However, for infants and young children under 3 years of age, the use of IONM is challenging due to incomplete central and peripheral myelination.

Case Presentation: We report a case of a T4-T6 dermal sinus tract (DST) that was resected on day of life 23, with the successful use of IONM.

Efficacy and safety of VNS therapy or continued medication management for treatment of adults with drug-resistant epilepsy: systematic review and meta-analysis.

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) Therapy® is an adjunctive neurostimulation treatment for people with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) who are unwilling to undergo resective surgery, have had unsuccessful surgery or are unsuitable for surgery. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to determine the treatment effects of VNS Therapy as an adjunct to anti-seizure medications (ASMs) for the management of adults with DRE. A literature search was performed in August 2020 of the Medline®, Medline® Epub Ahead of Print, Embase, and the Cochrane library databases.

Genomic and clinical predictors of lacosamide response in refractory epilepsies.

Objective: Clinical and genetic predictors of response to antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) are largely unknown. We examined predictors of lacosamide response in a real-world clinical setting.

Methods: We tested the association of clinical predictors with treatment response using regression modeling in a cohort of people with refractory epilepsy.
