[Diagnosis of possession by a djinn in a transcultural consultation].

The transcultural approach is indicated for complex cases where the cultural dimension is useful in fully understanding a problem. The cultural coding of certain symptoms, such as trance or possession, can be difficult to achieve in conventional individual therapy. The clinical case of Aïcha, originally from Morocco, referred by her psychiatrist for a transcultural opinion, illustrates a reflection on diagnostic elaboration in the face of possession by a djinn.

[Support for the mother-child relationship during total denial of pregnancy: Midwives' point of view].

Objectives: Total pregnancy denial is a phenomenon where the woman does not recognize her pregnancy until a late stage, sometimes just before childbirth. These complex situations raise many questions about the support of the mother-child dyad. This qualitative study aims to describe the experiences and strategies of midwives when dealing with cases of total pregnancy denial, as well as the relational dynamics within these particular dyads, in order to identify avenues for appropriate care.

Racial biases in clinical practice and medical education: a scoping review.

Introduction: Health inequalities represent a major challenge in contemporary medicine, with some attributed to racial biases. Recently, in the United States, a call to combat discrimination in the field of health has resonated, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 crisis, in which minorities have been disproportionately affected. These calls echo recommendations from the Institute of Medicine dating back to 2001, urging the fight against inequalities in access to health care.

[The cultural diversity of professionals in migrant care].

A qualitative study was carried out with five professionals in a pediatric intensive care unit in 2022. Semi-structured interviews were used to find out how they felt about patients from their own culture, and about the role of their mother tongue in hospital care. Caregivers find it difficult to bring their own culture to the fore when caring for their patients.
