Urinary incontinence is a common complaint of both general practitioners and specialists. An accurate basic diagnosis with a structured medical history and bladder diary, urine analysis, gynaecological examination including pelvic floor assessment and a full bladder cough test can be supplemented by sonography, cystoscopy and urodynamic testing. This will help to differentiate between the different types of urinary incontinence, such as urge incontinence, stress incontinence and overflow incontinence.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Sustaining a 'fit-for-purpose' health workforce requires a better understanding of the health care worker cadres that are affected during pandemics and their outcomes. In hospitalized health care workers with confirmed COVID-19 between March 2020 and May 2023 in Liberia, we determined the hospitalization and case fatality rates, type of health care worker cadres affected, their demographic and clinical characteristics and hospital exit outcomes.
Methods: This was a cohort study using routine data extracted from hospitalization forms for health care workers in 24 designated COVID-19 treatment facilities.
Background: We examined the feasibility of assessing and referring adults successfully completing TB treatment for comorbidities, risk determinants and disability in health facilities in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study within national TB programmes.
Results: Health workers assessed 1,063 patients (78% of eligible) in a median of 22 min [IQR 16-35] and found it useful and feasible to accomplish in addition to other responsibilities.
