Inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver is an extremely rare entity. Because of its unusual clinical presentation and confusing histologic picture, a diagnosis of malignancy is frequently made. Thus the surgeon is closely involved with the case and extensive procedures are not uncommon.

Isolated small bowel metastasis of bronchogenic carcinoma is so distinctly unusual that only three previous case reports have been located. The authors report the case of a 59-year-old white male, who succumbed due to complications of a jejunal metastasis two months after left upper lobectomy for large cell carcinoma. The diagnosis was suspected preoperatively on the basis of a CT scan.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis case of postoperative retropubic hemorrhage after needle biopsy of the prostate is reported to remind all who perform the procedure and all who refer patients for it that serious hemorrhage can result from improper management of the biopsy needle. If the biopsy needle is passed completely through the gland, the periprostatic vascular plexus is penetrated, and further advancement can place the point of the needle in the rich pudendal vascular plexus. The biopsy maneuver done with the cutting end of the needle in one of these vascular areas can result in serious hemorrhage.
