Structure-based Virtual Screening and Drug Design Development of Leishmanicidal Pyrimidines.

Leishmaniasis is a neglected disease caused by parasites of the genus Leishmania sp. that causes approximately 1 million cases and 650,000 deaths annually worldwide. Its treatment has several limitations mainly due to high toxicity and clinical resistance, and the search for alternatives is highly desirable.

Dosage of botulinum toxin in patients undergoing treatment for hemifacial spasm: is there modification during follow-up?

Background:  The movement disorder known as hemifacial spasm is characterized by involuntary contractions of the muscles that are innervated by the facial nerve. The treatment of choice for this condition is botulinum toxin injections.

Objective:  To analyze the botulinum toxin dosage in patients undergoing treatment for hemifacial spasm during a 14-year period.

Introduction: Intravenous tirofiban (IT) is shown to be potentially effective in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients submitted to mechanical thrombectomy, despite its safety and efficacy are not well established. However, there is a lack of evidence on the effects of IT on endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in patients with AIS due to large artery atherosclerosis (LAA).

Objectives: To assess the safety and efficacy of IT in AIS patients due to LAA submitted to EVT.

Implementation of the care agreements of the CACTO program for mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder.

Objective: to analyze the implementation of care agreements developed in the CACTO program for mothers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Method: exploratory, qualitative study, guided by Unitary Caring Science and the Implementation Science methodological framework, based on the Consolidated Conceptual Framework for Implementation Research. Conducted with 20 mothers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, between April 2023 and February 2024, during care meetings developed in a non-governmental organization.
