Carbon dioxide (CO ) trapping in capillary networks of reservoir rocks is a pathway to long-term geological storage. At pore scale, CO drainage displacement depends on injection pressure, temperature, and the rock's interaction with the surrounding fluids. Modeling this interaction requires adequate representations of both capillary volume and surface.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a novel dietary supplement, including melatonin and magnesium, delivered via coffee pods on sleep quality, resting metabolic rate (RMR), and body composition in individuals with poor sleep quality disturbances. Using a double-blinded, randomized, crossover trial, we recruited 35 participants to a 4-week intervention with both supplements (1.9 mg melatonin + 200 mg elemental magnesium before sleep) and placebo conditions, considering a 7d washout period between treatments.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on evaluating the body composition of male futsal players by measuring their fat mass percentage (FM%) and comparing it with existing prediction equations.
  • A total of 78 players underwent various assessments, including DXA scans, and the existing equations did not accurately reflect their body fat compared to DXA results.
  • The researchers developed a new Bettery® equation specifically for futsal players which showed high accuracy and validity for estimating FM%, making it a reliable tool for assessing body composition in this sport.

Introduction: The effects of dietary protein on body composition and physical performance seemingly depend on the essential amino acid profile of the given protein source, although controversy exists about whether animal protein sources may possess additional anabolic properties to plant-based protein sources.

Purpose: To compare the effects of a novel plant-based protein matrix and whey protein supplementation on body composition, strength, power, and endurance performance of trained futsal players.

Methods: Fifty male futsal players were followed during 8 weeks of supplementation, with 40 completing the study either with plant-based protein ( = 20) or whey protein ( = 20).

Aims: The present study aimed to assess the ability of bioelectrical impedance vector analysis (BIVA) in discriminating fitness levels in futsal players, exploring the association of body composition and bioelectrical parameters with aerobic power. Methods: Forty-eight professional futsal players (age 23.8 ± 5.
