Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The plants of the genus Casimirella ampla (Miers) (C. ampla) are extensively used in folk medicine. For a long time, rural communities have been using extracts from its roots for food and therapeutic purposes.

[The role of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE): case study conducted at the Dax Hospital Center].

The purpose of this study is to assess the role of transesophageal echocardiography at the Dax Hospital Center based on indications, patients´ profile, results, cost-effectiveness and consistency with prescribers´ expectations. We conducted a retrospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study at the Cardiovascular Laboratory of the Dax Hospital Center from January 2016 to December 2018. The study included 434 exams out of 460 requested.

Antibiotic prophylaxis in breast cancer surgery. A randomized controlled trial.

Purpose: To assess the effect of antibiotic prophylaxis on surgical site infection (SSI) rates in women undergoing breast cancer surgery in two tertiary hospitals in Brazil.

Methods: This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group clinical trial. A total of 124 women without independent risk factors for SSI were randomly assigned to receive either cefazolin (antibiotic group, n = 62) or placebo (control group, n = 62) as preoperative prophylaxis.

The importance of image guided radiotherapy in small cell lung cancer: Case report and review of literature.

Aim: Describe the anatomical changes and tumor displacement due to a rapid response of a patient's small cell lung cancer (SCLC) during definitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT).

Background: The treatment for SCLC is based on CRT. If interfractional changes during RT are incorrectly assessed they might compromise adequate coverage of the tumor or increase dose to organs at risk.
