Umbilical cord blood (UCB) T cells exhibit distinct naïve ontogenetic profiles and may be an attractive source of starting cells for the production of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. Pre-selection of UCB-T cells on the basis of CD62L expression was investigated as part of a machine-based manufacturing process, incorporating lentiviral transduction, CRISPR- Cas9 editing, T-cell expansion, and depletion of residual TCRαβ T cells. This provided stringent mitigation against the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), and was combined with simultaneous knockout of CD52 to enable persistence of edited T cells in combination with preparative lymphodepletion using alemtuzumab.

Colorectal cancer incidence trends by tumour location among adults of screening-age in England: a population-based study.

Aim: Proximal and distal colorectal cancers (CRCs) exhibit different clinical, molecular and biological patterns. The aim of this study was to determine temporal trends in the age-standardized incidence rates (ASIRs) of proximal and distal CRC following the introduction of the English Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) in 2006.

Method: The National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service database was used to identify incident cases of CRC among adults of screening age (60-74 years) between 2001 and 2017.

Integrated virtual medical consultations versus traditional clinic care in a public and a private outpatient service.

Objectives: The iConnect Care programme provided integrated 'virtual care' (VC) for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. VC is an alternative to outpatient care which expedites time to specialists' opinions and is safe. Comparing different outpatient care models is important to understand the role of telehealth and integrated care, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic.
