Our aim was to compare the inter-rater agreement about transvaginal ultrasonography (TVS) with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with regard to diagnosing adenomyosis and for assessing various predefined imaging features of adenomyosis, in the same set of women. The study cohort included 51 women, prospectively, consecutively recruited based on a clinical suspicion of adenomyosis. MRIs and TVS videoclips and 3D volumes were retrospectively assessed by four experienced radiologists and five experienced sonographers, respectively.

Article Synopsis
  • Intraoperative pancreatoscopy is a new method that helps doctors during surgery to check for certain types of pancreatic tumors called IPMNs.
  • The study looked at 46 patients, and the procedure helped doctors make better decisions in 65% of the cases, sometimes leading to more surgery needed to remove dangerous growths.
  • Combining this method with another analysis showed a high chance of correctly identifying problematic tissue, making the procedure safe and useful for patients.

The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic interaction between age and sex on peri-operative and follow-up outcomes following elective carotid endarterectomy (CEA) for asymptomatic and symptomatic carotid stenosis. A retrospective review of all patients admitted to a single vascular unit who underwent elective CEA between January, 2015 and December, 2019 was performed. The primary endpoints of the study were overall survival (from index operation) and cumulative stroke rate at thirty days.

Background And Purpose: Diagnosis of posterior circulation stroke may be challenged. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and brain imaging (non-contrast brain computed tomography-CT) are used for diagnosis; evaluation on posterior circulation stroke remains a limit of NIHSS, and the value of non-contrast CT (NCCT) is limited due to artifacts caused by the bones of the base of the skull. We tested the validity and prognostic value of posterior circulation Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (pc-ASPECTS) in patients with posterior circulation stroke.
