Abortion-related complications in Brazil: results from the World Health Organization Multi-country Survey on Abortion (MCS-A).

This study aimed to describe the severity of abortion-related complications, factors associated with complications, the types of management and the experience of care in Brazil. A cross-sectional study in twenty hospitals (10 in Federal District, 3 in Rondônia and 7 in Maranhão). For 3 months, all women treated for abortion/miscarriage had their data collected.

Applicability of the adjusted morbidity groups algorithm for healthcare programming: results of a pilot study in Italy.

Background: Population-based Health Risk Assessment (HRA) tools are strategic for the implementation of integrated care. Various HRA algorithms have been developed in the last decades worldwide. Their full adoption being limited by technical, functional, and economical factors.

Majeed syndrome: first description in a patient of central-European ancestry.

Objectives: We present the first case of a Majeed syndrome in a girl of central-European ancestry.

Methods: : Patient's medical records were reviewed. A NGS panel for autoinflammatory diseases was performed and the mutation was confirmed by Sanger analysis.

Communication in oncology between healthcare providers, patients, the scientific community, and the media: recommendations from the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM).

Aim: To identify barriers between health and communication in oncology in order to promote the best possible practice. The areas of communication to be focused on are communication directly with the patient, communication within the scientific community, and communication with the media.

Material And Methods: A working group including eminent experts from the national mass media, healthcare system, and patients' advocacy has been established on behalf of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM), with the aim of developing suitable recommendations for the best communication in oncology.
