Biventricular takotsubo cardiomyopathy: case study and review of literature.

Biventricular takotsubo cardiomyopathy is associated with more hemodynamic instability than is isolated left ventricular takotsubo cardiomyopathy; medical management is more invasive and the course of hospitalization is longer. In March 2011, a 62-year-old woman presented at our emergency department with abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. On hospital day 2, she experienced chest pain.

Musculoskeletal problems in pediatric acute leukemia.

Acute leukemia (AL) in children can mimic several orthopedic pathologies at presentation, with a variable delay in the correct diagnosis. This is a major problem, which may result in fractures, loss of mobility, and deformity, with resultant adverse effects on quality of life. Here, we studied the clinical and radiological musculoskeletal manifestations in children with AL.

Intraparotid injection of botulinum toxin A as a treatment to control sialorrhea in children with cerebral palsy.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of botulinum toxin A in the management of drooling (sialorrhea) in children and young adults with cerebral palsy.

Design: Twenty-one children were enrolled in an open-label, nonblinded prospective study. Subjective and objective measures were used to determine the effect of botulinum toxin A on drooling and saliva production.
