The use of vibration is proposed as a means of controlling the settlement of marine fouling organisms. In this study, panels with embedded lead zirconate titanate, known as PZT, were placed in the field over 3 months. The panels were vibrated at different velocity levels at frequencies between 70 and 445 Hz.

Paroxysmal trigeminal neuralgia and atypical facial pain are both fairly common conditions that produce pain in the face of different character. Trigeminal neuralgia is sharp and shooting, brought on by facial movement, change of temperature and by touching the face at a specific point (the trigger point). Atypical facial pain is dull and unrelenting and its site is ill-defined.

Oral candidosis is common, particularly in elderly patients who wear dentures. Many of these patients also have systemic diseases, including conditions for which they have to take oral anticoagulants, most commonly warfarin. Although the effect of parenterally administered miconazole on anticoagulant control is well known, the fact that small amounts of topically applied miconazole oral gel can have a similar effect is poorly recognized.
