This review aims to comprehensively and systematically analyze the anodic oxidation process to form nanostructured oxide films on the surface of the most technologically relevant Fe-based alloys and steels. A special emphasis is put on detailed analysis of the mechanisms of the anodic formation of Fe-based nanostructured materials. The effect of anodizing parameters including the type of Fe-alloy, electrolyte composition, potential/current regimes, as well as various post-treatment procedures (including annealing treatment) on the growth, morphology, composition, and properties of the resulting oxide films is discussed in detail.

Methods: We performed a multicenter registry, with 7 hospitals form Spain, of patients with, or high-risk of having, coronary heart disease (CHD). Elevated Lp(a) was defined as >50 mg/dl.
Background: The relationships between spirometric assessment of lung function and symptoms (including exacerbations) in patients with asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in a real-life setting are uncertain.
Objectives: To assess the relationships between baseline post-bronchodilator (post-BD) spirometry measures of lung function and symptoms and exacerbations in patients with a physician-assigned diagnosis of asthma and/or COPD.
Design: The NOVEL observational longiTudinal studY (NOVELTY) is a global, prospective, 3-year observational study.
Metal-air batteries are an emerging technology with great potential to satisfy the demand for energy in high-consumption applications. However, this technology is still in an early stage, facing significant challenges such as a low cycle life that currently limits its practical use. Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) conducting polymer has already demonstrated its efficiency as catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) discharge as an alternative to traditional expensive and nonsustainable metal catalysts.

Here, we show a salt-free all-polymer nanocomposite solid electrolyte for lithium metal batteries that improves the mechanical properties and shows a high lithium-ion transference number. For this purpose, lithium sulfonamide-functionalized poly(methyl methacrylate) nanoparticles (LiNPs) of very small size (20-30 nm) were mixed with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO).
