Group A (GAS), particularly (), is a significant human pathogen responsible for infections often ranging from mild superficial conditions to severe, life-threatening diseases like necrotizing fasciitis (NF) and streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS). This case report details the rapid deterioration of a previously healthy 49-year-old woman who presented with localized symptoms in her left thigh, later escalating to septic shock and multi-organ failure related to GAS infection. Initial evaluations indicated significant inflammation and acute kidney injury, prompting broad-spectrum antibiotic treatment.

Aims: To evaluate the effects of a slow-delivery chlorhexidine:beta-cyclodextrin (Cx:β-Cd) gel compared with those of free Cx free formulations on clinical parameters in patients undergoing treatment with fixed orthodontic appliances.
Methods: Patients aged 12-18 years received prophylaxis and scaling and were randomised to treatment groups in a double-blinded manner.
Attesting optimal drug concentrations in biological fluids is crucial to ensure precise dosage adjustment, to guarantee therapy adherence, and to manage side effects in chemotherapy. Accurate drug determination relies on liquid chromatography and advanced detectors, with sample preparation playing a pivotal role, especially in complex matrices such as biological fluids. This study introduces a multiphase electroextraction (MPEE) of doxorubicin (DOX) in saliva by utilizing a paper point, followed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to diode array detection.

The 2012 version of the Briganti nomogram assessing the risk of pelvic lymph node invasion was used.

This article explores, for the first time, various strategies aimed at enhancing the extraction efficiency of a recent approach of EE utilizing a paper point (PP) combined with a hollow fiber (HF) (abbreviated as PP-HF-EE) to extract various cationic and anionic model compounds from water samples. The study also explores, experimentally, the impact of agitation, organic filter composition, PP diameter, and PP brand on extraction performance, and proves that all these factors are quite important, especially when digital image analysis is utilized for determination.
