Mammalian receptor-mediated endocytosis (RME) often involves at least one of three isoforms of the large GTPase dynamin (Dyn). Dyn pinches-off vesicles at the plasma membrane and mediates uptake of many viruses, although some viruses directly penetrate the plasma membrane. Four new mononuclear gold (I) compounds of the type [AuL{κC-2-CHP(S)Ph}] {L = PTA (1), PPh (2), PPh(CH-3-SONa) (3), and PPh(2-py) (4)} were prepared by scission of the dinuclear compound [Au{μ-2-CHP(S)Ph}] by L or via a transmetalation reaction using the organotin reagent 2-MeSnCHP(S)Ph and a suitable gold halide precursor. The cytotoxic potential of complexes 1-4 was evaluated against four human cancer cell lines of diverse cellular origin: cervical (HeLa), prostate (PC-3), non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma (A549), and fibrosarcoma (HT-1080). Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), an acute febrile viral disease impacting goats and sheep flocks, manifests with pyrexia, mucopurulent nasal and ocular discharges, necrotizing and erosive stomatitis, pneumonia, and enteritis. The disease-instigating agent, PPR virus, pertains to the genus in the family. The endemic presence of PPR in India results in notable economic losses due to heightened mortality and morbidity in infected animals.

Plastic pollutants create health crises like physical damage to tissues, upset reproductive processes, altered behaviour, oxidative stress, neurological disorders, DNA damage, gene expression, and disrupt physiological functions, as the biosphere accumulates them inadvertently through the food web. Water resources have become the generic host of plastic wastes irrespective of their particle size, resulting in widespread distribution in aquatic environments. The pre-treatment step of the traditional water treatment process can easily remove coarse-sized plastic wastes.
