Background/objectives: To determine mortality rates after lower extremity amputation (LEA) in individuals with and without diabetes mellitus (DM).

Methods: Retrospective, observational study using data from a database covering >99 % of the Dutch population. LEAs in 2016 were identified, and mortality data from 2016 to 2021 were analyzed.

"The more I think about it, the less I like it": Effects of elaboration, narrative transportation, and freedom threat on the effectiveness of HPV vaccination advocacy messages.

Approximately 80 million US adults-one in four-are infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV), which causes cancers of the cervix in women, cancers of the anus, penis, and throat in men, and genital warts in both sexes. Although HPV vaccinations are safe, effective, easily affordable, and readily available, a substantial percentage of parents resist recommendations to vaccinate their children against HPV. The current study tests the effects of different vaccination advocacy message strategies on attitudes toward HPV vaccination.

Families' opinions about their involvement in care during hospitalization: a mixed-methods study.

Background: Healthcare professionals in the hospital setting frequently assume primary caregiving responsibilities, which often leads family members to perceive this as standard practice during hospitalization. This dynamic may create a gap between actual and desired levels of family involvement. The aim of this study is to explore the opinions of families about their involvement in care during the hospitalization of a relative.

Trends in Intermittent Scanning Continuous Glucose Monitoring Usage in The Netherlands-An Opportunity for Elderly Individuals with Diabetes.

Intermittent scanning continuous glucose monitoring (is-CGM) technology has gained widespread adoption and is known to improve glycemic control and quality of life for persons with diabetes. The elderly may lag behind in their adoption of the technology, which could be a potential avenue for improving quality of care. In this study, we investigated the adoption of is-CGM technology in the Dutch population, including effects of age.
