Osteoclast cell image analysis plays a key role in osteoporosis research, but it typically involves extensive manual image processing and hand annotations by a trained expert. In the last few years, a handful of machine learning approaches for osteoclast image analysis have been developed, but none have addressed the full instance segmentation task required to produce the same output as that of the human expert led process. Furthermore, none of the prior, fully automated algorithms have publicly available code, pretrained models, or annotated datasets, inhibiting reproduction and extension of their work.

Despite the considerable attention given to the individual impacts of elevated CO and O levels, the combined effects on soil nematode communities have not been extensively explored. In this study, we investigated the interactive effects of elevated CO (+200 ppm, eCO) and O (+40 ppb, eO) levels on the abundance, diversity, and trophic composition of soil nematode communities associated with two rice cultivars (Nanjing 5055, NJ5055 and Wuyujing 3, WYJ3).

Yet, the geographic patterns and main drivers of earthworm gut ARGs remain largely unknown. We collected 52 earthworm and soil samples from arable and forest ecosystems along a 3000 km transect across China, analyzing the diversity and abundance of ARGs using shotgun metagenomics.

The subsequent O&G decommissioning process involves a range of stakeholders with specific interests and priorities. This range of inputs to the process highlights the necessity for the development of multi-criteria decision frameworks to help guide the decision-making process.

These volatile-dependent mechanisms have not been previously demonstrated belowground, despite their likely significant role in soil ecology and agricultural pest impacts. We investigated how the plant virus, tobacco rattle virus (TRV), attracts soil nematode vectors to infected plants.
