Introduction: Recent literature suggests pain management and sedation in ED patients after rapid sequence intubation are done inconsistently, which impacts patient outcomes negatively. The purpose of this study is to compare rates and timing of post-intubation analgesia and sedation before and after an ED pharmacy practice improvement intervention.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of adult ED patients intubated over an 18-month period.

Introduction: Bacillus Calmette-Guérin production is limited worldwide with stuttering shortages affecting patient access. Our institution received 50 vials of bacillus Calmette-Guérin labeled for percutaneous administration, and upon discussion with our clinical team and approval by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee we used the percutaneous formulation in place of the intravesical formulation. We report our experience.

Unlabelled: Background On 26 July 2016, Victoria began a large study of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, called PrEPX, that involved the creation of around 2600 appointments over 3 months across multiple sites in Melbourne, Australia. At this time, the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC) appeared to have a larger demand on its services. The aim of the present study was to determine whether this apparent increase in demand was substantially different from other demand fluctuations.
