All-inorganic cesium lead halide (CsPbX, X = Cl, Br, I) perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) are successfully incorporated within the cages of zirconium-based UiO-series metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) using in situ ship-in-a-bottle method at room temperature under ambient conditions. The resulting mBPP-MOF, which includes the 4,4'-(2,2'-bipyridyl-5,5'-diyl)dibenzoic acid (HBPP) linker, features a larger cavity size than UiO-66 and UiO-67-bpy, allowing for uniform accommodation of PeQDs within its cages. This PeQDs@MOF hybrid heterostructure enhances the separation and transfer of photogenerated charges, enabling the synthesized CsPbBr@mBPP-MOF to demonstrate highly selective and stable performance in the photocatalytic oxidation of toluene under visible light irradiation at 395 nm.

Multivariate MOFs (MTV-MOFs) constructed from multiple components with atomistic precision hold the promise for many fascinating developments in both fundamental sciences and applications. Sequential linker installation can be an effective method to introduce different functional linkers into an MOF that contains coordinatively unsaturated metal sites. However, in many cases, these linkers must be installed according to a specific sequence and the complete synthetic flexibility and freedom is yet to be realized.

Background: Different software applications have been developed to support health care professionals in individualized drug dosing. However, their translation into clinical practice is limited, partly because of poor usability and integration into workflow, which can be attributed to the limited involvement of health care professionals in the development and implementation of drug dosing software. Rare-earth metal-organic frameworks (RE-MOFs) are an attractive platform to construct luminescent materials for practical applications in lighting, optoelectronics, and sensing. By adjusting the metal composition in mixed RE-MOFs, one can not only realize tunable emission but also construct ratiometric luminescent sensors. As such, it is highly desirable to prepare robust RE-MOFs that display efficient, multifunctional sensing capability.
