We conducted a genome-wide association study on income among individuals of European descent (N = 668,288) to investigate the relationship between socio-economic status and health disparities. We identified 162 genomic loci associated with a common genetic factor underlying various income measures, all with small effect sizes (the Income Factor). Our polygenic index captures 1-5% of income variance, with only one fourth due to direct genetic effects.

We present an efficient implementation of the equation of motion oscillator strengths for the closed-shell multilevel coupled cluster singles and doubles with perturbative triples method (MLCC3) in the electronic structure program . The orbital space is split into an active part treated with CC3 and an inactive part computed at the coupled cluster singles and doubles (CCSD) level of theory. Asymptotically, the CC3 contribution scales as floating-point operations, where is the total number of virtual orbitals while and are the number of active virtual and occupied orbitals, respectively.

Here, we describe an extended genome-wide association meta-analysis of a well-characterized cohort of 3255 COVID-19 patients with respiratory failure and 12 488 population controls from Italy, Spain, Norway and Germany/Austria, including stratified analyses based on age, sex and disease severity, as well as targeted analyses of chromosome Y haplotypes, the human leukocyte antigen region and the SARS-CoV-2 peptidome. By inversion imputation, we traced a reported association at 17q21.

Most low-level blast studies to date have focused on explosive breaching and firing heavy weapon systems; however, there is limited research on the repetitive blast exposure and physiological effects that mortarmen experience when firing mortar weapon systems. Motivated by anecdotal symptoms of mortarmen, the purpose of this paper is to characterize this exposure and its resulting neurocognitive effects in order to provide preliminary findings and actionable recommendations to safeguard the health of mortarmen.

While not being suitable for describing nuclear dynamics of photoisomerization, coupled cluster models have useful attributes, such as the inclusion of dynamical correlation, their black box nature, and the systematic improvement offered by truncation level. Results for the studied systems show that when triple excitations (here through the CC3 model) are included, ground and excited state potential energy surfaces for isomerization paths may reliably be generated, also for states of doubly excited character.
