Methods: The reaction of 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione and each of triethoxymethane and acetophenone derivatives 3a-g in absolute ethanol containing triethylamine gave the 4,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5H-chromen-5-one derivatives 4a-g.

The research study aimed to maximize the important medical role of star anise extract (SAE) through its loading on a widely available natural polymer (chitosan, Cs). Male infertility is identified by the inability of a man to successfully impregnate his fertile female partner, even following a year of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. About half of all infertility cases are attributed to what is known as "male factor" infertility. The escalating prevalence of male infertility in the contemporary era across the globe can be largely attributed to environmental pollution, which is the common etiological factor due to the ubiquitous presence of the environmental contaminants.
